[in]bodied is a physical, visceral exploration of the tension between what is felt in the darkness and what is said in the light. Inhale It is an expression of something Exhale … and some thing - Chanel Blanchett

Working on [in]bodied was a truly rewarding experience. I was able to collaborate and work alongside an artist who I call a friend but also truly admire. This process also taught me how to share ideas in a way everyone can understand. Using drawings and slides to using theatrical concepts of stage right. Sometimes as a Media Designer it is very easy to fall into jargon that is not accessible.

As a process it was straightforward as the simplicity that wished to be kept within the show. From a blue light flicker on a an actor’s face to the monster a gif. that had to be kept on loop. It was more in the timing that it became a bit more complicated as we worked with combining pre-recorded videos and the live component of performance. Additionally there was a moment of losing an effect due to the lights employed within the show. Yet, [in]bodied allowed for exploration and collaboration, discovering how the digital and the performers could collaborate with one another.
